As the Toronto Maple Leafs have emerged as the front runner to sign Marc Andre Fleury to a multi-year deal on July 13, buzz around the draft is the Washington Capitals are trying to acquire the negotiating rights to Fleury in attempt to try to lure the veteran netminder to Washington.

The Minnesota Wild have yet to receive an official decision from Fleury who is seeking at least a two year deal. Minnesota will consider trading Fleury’s right if the goaltender intends to not sign with the Wild and the Wild hope for a resolution in the next 48 hours.
