The Penguins not tendering Danton Heinen to retain his RFA rights prior to free agency was a business move that ended up paying off weeks later for the team, not the player. The Penguins on Wednesday announced the team has resigned Heinen to a one year, $1 Million contract. Heinen, 27, recorded 18 goals and 15 assists in 78 games for the Penguins last season. He added 3 goals in the 2022 playoffs.
