The Pittsburgh Penguins have a slew of problems right now with their play/roster and those issues will only be magnified if Matt Murray has any sort of a lengthy injury.

Murray left tonight’s game vs the Philadelphia Flyers in visible pain after getting his leg slammed into by Jacob Voracek.

Murray needed assistance to the locker room and did not return.

Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said after the game that Murray obviously has a lower body injury and will undergo further evaluation on Tuesday. Sullivan expects more answers tomorrow.

Tristan Jarry earned his second career NHL win in relief tonight, stopping six of eight shots.

“If [hide] [Matt is out long-term], then Tristan is going to have to make timely saves for us, game in and game out, and we believe he can do that for us,” Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said if Jarry ends up having to be able to handle a starters workout for an extended period.[/hide]


Guentzel stars, Crosby nets OT Winner in 5-4 win over Flyers

Another inconsistent night from the Penguins but a second straight 5-goal effort.

Pittsburgh trailed 3-1 heading into the third period without their No. 1 netminder and rallied with third period goals from Patric Hornqvist (8), Bryan Rust (4), Jake Guentzel (11) to force overtime.

The Penguins then capped off the come from behind win with an overtime goal from Sidney Crosby (10) to deliver a 5-4 win against the Flyers.

The OT winner from Crosby was his 11th career overtime goal and 2nd career OT goal vs the Flyers.

Jake Guentzel starred with 2 goals and 1 assist in the win and has 8 goals in his last 11 games.

The Penguins peppered the Flyers with 52 shots.

Philadelphia’s winless streak is now at 8 games and it’s tick tock……for Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol.
