Defenseman Olli Maatta had hand surgery this morning that will sideline him six weeks, the team announced. Maatta was injured in the second period of last night’s game. The surgery was performed by Dr. Dharmesh Vyas of the UPMC Sports Medicine group.

The Penguins have recalled defensemen Cameron Gaunce and Steve Oleksy.
