Brewers 8 – Pirates 4

The Pittsburgh Pirates (5-6) dropped their fourth straight game in losing to the Milwaukee Brewers (5-5) 8-4 on Friday night. Pittsburgh fell behind 5-0 before rallying for 4 runs in the 7th inning, only to give two runs right back in the eighth and one in the ninth.

*Ryan Braun hit 2-home runs for the Brewers in the win.

Pirate starter Jeff Locke (0-1, 2.53 ERA) gave up 5 hits, 3 runs and walked 7 batters over 4 2/3 innings.

*Matt Joyce his his first home run as a Pirate, a 3-run shot in the 7th inning. Startling Marte was 3-5 with an RBI in the loss. Marte is hitting .348 with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs on the season.
