Ryan Vogelsong has provided a boost to the Pirates rotation and Pittsburgh has lost both of Vogelsong’s starts since the 39 year old has returned from injury.

Vogelsong gave up two unearned runs and three hits in six innings while striking out five and walking one in the Pirates 4-0 loss to the Padres on Wednesday night.

It marked the second straight quality start for Vogelsong where he did his part to put the Pirates in position to win. The Pirates managed just 2 hits in the loss.

Over his last two starts, Vogelsong has allowed six hits, one earned run with a K/BB ratio of 11/2 in 12 innings pitched.
