Don Baizley the agent for Paul Kariya announced this evening that his client will not play hockey in 2010-2011.
“Paul Kariya will not play hockey during the 2010/11 season. After being examined by concussion specialist Dr. Mark Lovell, Paul is not able to play hockey due to post-concussion syndrome, ” Baizley announced in a statement today.
Kariya has been recently working out in Anaheim and was eyeing a return to the Ducks. The Ducks were the only team Kariya was considering this summer.
As I have stated on multiple occasions, the Penguins were never engaged in talks with Kariya’s agent nor were any expected if Kariya was able to play this year.
Kariya, 35, had 18 goals and 25 assists last season for the St. Louis Blues. The former All-Star winger has 402 career goals in 989 games.
