Quick update from New Jersey. Penguins winger Tyler Kennedy is participating fully in the Penguins optional skate, according to a team source on the scene.
Kennedy missed practice on Wednesday and was scratched for Thursday’s game. He is bothered by what is being considered a minor sore groin but is also sitting because of his play on the ice.
A source tells me Kennedy will be scratched for the second consecutive game. Jay McKee will be Pittsburgh’s other scratch.
Goaltender Marc Andre Fleury will start in goal for Pittsburgh.
Meanwhile, former Penguins defenseman Martin Skoula will be in the lineup for the Devils. Although defenseman Anssi Salmela will return to the lineup for New Jersey, Skoula will not be the odd-man out.
Defenseman Mark Fraser will sit for the Devils.
