Ben Roethlisberger was forced out of tonight‚Äôs game following the first half with an injured shoulder but the Steelers #1 rank defense held the Washington Redskins to 221 yards and backup quarterback Bryon Leftwich came to the rescue for the Steelers offense in the second half. Leftwich went 7-of-10 for 129 yards and a touchdown as the 6-2 Steelers beat their first NFC East opponent of the season. Leftwich orchestrated two scoring drives for the Steelers, including a 5 yard touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes and a 50-yard completion to Nate Washington that set up a 1-yard TD run by Willie Parker. Parker playing in his first game since week 3, ran well rushing for 71 yards on 20 carries. The Steelers defense continued their dominance limiting running back Clinton Portis to 51 yards.
