BREWERS 10 – PIRATES 4
Brewers Pitcher Yovani Gallardo hit one of five home runs for Milwaukee and allowed just three hits and one earned run over seven innings, leading the Milwaukee Brewers (13-11) to a 10-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates (15-11) on Monday night.
The Pirates were out of this one quickly and the Brewers improve to 45-7 against the Pirates at Miller Park since 2007.
Some Numbers out of Tonight’s Loss for the Pirates:
*Wandy Rodriguez (2-1, 3.91 ERA) had his first hiccup of the season, allowing six hits and seven earned runs in just 3.2 innings pitched. Rodriguez gave up three home runs and walked four in the loss. He struggled mightily with his command and threw 38 pitches in the first inning.
*Garrett Jones (.319 – 3 HR – 15 RBI) hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning and has homered in consecutive games. Jones hitting streak is at five games.
*Brandon Inge (.300 – 0 HR – 2 RBI) has hit safely in every game as a Pirate, going 1-4.
