The Detroit Tigers in the market for a left handed reliever have expressed an interest in Pirates lefty John Grabow. The Tigers were scouting Grabow during the WBC and have opened

talks with the Pirates about Grabow. The Pirates have been shopping Grabow since the winter meetings and after a strong performance in the WBC, Grabow’s stock is rising. In 6 appearances, Grabow allowed one run, four hits, while striking out 5 and only walking one batter.
It is a certainty that Grabow will be traded by July’s trade deadline but it remains to be seen how interested the Pirates are in moving Grabow this early in the season. The Tigers are believed to be offering hitting while the Pirates are seeking pitching.
Underachiever (Pitcher) Dontrelle Willis is being actively shopped by the Tigers.
