Morning Skate Update
All seven defensemen alternated in the morning skate. Dan Bylsma just announced after practice that he will make a game-time decision on who sits.
Eaton or Boucher will be the odd-man out tonight. Hal Gill is not under consideration to be scratched.
Chris Kunitz missed the skate as his wife went into labor but he will play.
Game Time decisions on Adams and Godard too but I’m hearing Bylsma is leaning towards playing Godard in game 1.
It’s the time of the year where coaches aren’t going to disclose lineups in the morning skate like they do in the regular season.
The Flyers just took the ice and they have one lineup change. Rookie Jared Ross will center the 4th line with Daniel Carcillo and Darroll Powe. Nodl will be scratched.

No reason to post the Penguins lineup because it is still up in the air but here’s what went down in the morning skate.
Lines in the morning skate
Dupuis – Crosby – Guerin
Fedotenko – Malkin – Sykora
Cooke – Staal – Kennedy
Satan – Talbot – Adams/Godard
* Kunitz will be back on the top line and Dupuis will slide back to the 4th line.
As I mentioned in my practice reports — Monday, Godard got most of the reps with the 4th line, Tuesday Adams & Godard split time evenly.
Satan will be scratched tonight
Miroslav Satan will not be getting into the lineup tonight. From what I’m hearing and based on what I’ve seen in practice the past two days, if the Penguins struggle out of the gate, Bylsma will insert Satan in the lineup.
He has confidence in him as evidence by Satan skating with the second line in practice yesterday. If we see Satan it will be in a top-6 role. He won’t be filling in on the 4th line.
Penguins could exploit Flyers 4th line
The Penguins 4th line could play a key role in tonight’s game.¬†The Flyers 4th line is very inexperienced with Daniel Carcillo and Jared Ross. Craig Adams appears to be a better fit for this series.
I’ve had some sources tell me that Bylsma feels a bit obligated to give Godard the nod in game 1 as he has battled for his teammates all season.
Sidney Crosby spoke to the media for about 5 minutes this morning. He talked about how he is much more healthy than he was last spring
“Obviously, I played a lot more games this year, feel more comfortable physically, when you battle an injury for awhile, you always have in the back of your mind that you might reinjure it. Lucky not to have anything like that lingering, so I feel a lot better compared to last year.”
There is not expected to be a big turnout in regards to the national media covering this series. Most of them seem to be covering the Rangers/Capitals series.
