Daunte Culpepper is Miami bound for a second round pick

Daunte Culpepper lands in Miami. After giving up on Drew Brees the Dolphins decided to trade for the disgruntled quarterback Daunte Culpepper. By obtaining Culpepper it cost them a second round pick, but this is a great move for Dolphin team was quarterback away from making the playoffs. As for Drew Brees. He signed a 6 yr deal with the New Orleans Saints. This move shakes up the draft where the Saints most likely will be looking to trade the pick. Wide Reciever David Givens has signed with the Titans. The Titans also agreed to terms with Center Kevin Mawae. The Cincinnati Bengals have entered the Lavar Arrington sweepstakes. They are in the early stages of contract talks but a deal may get down in the coming days. The Giants, Dolphins and Eagles are also pursuing Arrington.

Linebacker Willie McGinest met with the Cleveland Browns today. The jets, Chargers, Dolphins are all interested in the former pro bowler. With Daunte Culpepper off the board now, don’t rule out Kerry Collins returning to the Oakland Raiders. Josh McNown is also a possibility. Keyshawn Johnson is expected to get released today so that could very well open the door for Terrel Owens to end up in Dallas.

Steeler News

According to the Tribune-review the Steelers are making efforts to resign Chris Hope but Hope just met with the Browns and is heading to meet with the 49er’s today. The Steelers brought in former Redskins safety Chris Clark who would be a big drop off compared to Hope. There is also word that Wide Recievers Mike Williams of Detroit and Javon Walker are on the trade block and their respective teams are asking for a 3rd round pick. If im the Steelers you take the chance and grab Williams. He had a terrible year but the kid has so much potential it’s scary. Brett Kiesel is not drawling that much attention but two teams the Browns and 49er’s are interested and could offer more money than the Steelers. It’s time for the Steelers to open up the bank and resign some of their own players instead of brining in backups.
