The NHL has cancelled all preseason games in September. They have been erased from all team websites like they never existed.
Four of the Penguins six preseason games have officially been wiped out. The Penguins are scheduled to play the Red Wings in Detroit on October 3rd and host the Chicago Blackhawks on October 5th for their preseason finale. It will only be a matter of days before those games are cancelled.
The Penguins were scheduled to report to camp this Friday.
The cancellation of preseason games won’t have any impact on negotiations and the two sides have yet to resume talks since the lockout has been officially in place. The two sides are likely to meet in the next seven to ten days in what’s going to be a critical stage in negotiations.
