Trade talks heating up for Bouwmeester as the trade deadline approaches
Florida GM Jacques Martin told the Camden Courier-Post he was in Philadelphia because his team had the night off, which is increasing speculation that D Jay Bouwmeester could be headed to Philadelphia.
The Flyers have been in strong pursuit of Bouwmeester since early January. The Flyers are currently discussing two proposals with Florida. One that would send Joffrey Lupul, Randy Jones or Matt Carle to Florida and another that could include Daniel Briere as the centerpiece of a deal.
The Flyers have plenty of competition for Bouwmeester as the

Bruins, Rangers, Devils, Canucks, Oilers, Blue Jackets, Senators, Maple Leafs, Ducks and Kings have all been in pursuit of Bowumeester.
The Senators are believed to have approached the Panthers about a Jason Spezza-Bouwmeester swap but the Sens want to discuss a long-term contract with Bouwmeester before making an official offer.
