Penguins – Blackhawks outdoor game being planned for next season

PENGUINS EXPECTED TO APPEAR IN A THIRD OUTDOOR GAME

The Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to appear in their third outdoor game in six years next season.

The NHL is in the process of finalizing plans for a Penguins – Blackhawks outdoor game at Soilder Field next winter in what could end up being a rematch of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals with the Penguins and Blackhawks heavy favorites in the East and West, respectively.

TSN reports the game is tentatively planned for March 1st and that the NHL is planning to have six outdoor games in total, which I’m sure some will see as overkill.
