LATEST PENGUIN RUMORS
When GM Ray Shero was scouting the Minnesota Wild last Thursday night, many point to potential interest in Pierre-Marc Bouchard or Devin Setoguchi, but does Shero also have his eye on third line help?

Sources close to the Wild says Cal Clutterbuck is going nowhere, calling him the “heart and soul” of that team, so you can scratch him off the list but could longtime veteran Matt Cullen be a player of interest to bolster the Penguins depth?
Elliotte Friedman of CBC see’s a fit and believes Cullen has “Penguin written all over him. “So who was Shero watching last week in Minnesota? He attended Avalanche/Wild game the night before Pittsburgh won in Winnipeg. You know who has Penguin written all over him? Matt Cullen,” Friedman wrote.
Cullen, 36, is an unrestricted free agent at seasons end and carries a $3.5 million cap hit. Cullen who has been centering the third and second line this season in Minnesota, has 1 goal and 6 points in 15 games and a minus-1 rating. He’s 51 percent in the faceoff circle but has winger capability.
He’s a strong defensive player, former Stanley Cup champion but nothing of a physical presence with 8 hits in 15 games. Many feel if the Penguins add to their third or fourth line, they need to add size and toughness for a potential playoff matchup down the line with the Boston Bruins for example.
