Penguins 3 – Senators 2 (2 OT)
The Pittsburgh Penguins are heading back to the Stanley Cup Final for the second straight season.
An epic Game 7, the hero tonight was Chris Kunitz who ended it at 5:09 of the second overtime, burying a feed from Sidney Crosby at the top of the left circle past Craig Anderson.
In scoring his second goal of the night, it was vintage Crosby-Kunitz connecting that has the Penguins four wins away from becoming the first team in 19 years to win back-to-back Stanley Cups.
Kunitz starred in the win with 2 goals and 1 assist.
Justin Schultz also scored in the Game 7 win, a power play marker in the third period to put the Penguins ahead 2-1 and it was Kunitz again providing the net front presence.
What a performance from Kunitz to rise to the occasion at his age and produce his first three point game of the season.

Did anyone notice two shifts in a row that Pierre and Edzo, respectively, were befuddled and made a big deal of Sullivan “juggling his lines,” when all he did was double shift Sid with the fourth line? I mean, do these idiots even watch the f’ing game??
Pierre was to busy spouting off that Methot played major junior for the London Knights and something about his draft year to be to concerned with the game.
Thank God I watch my game in cbc and not a circus like NBC they talk about everything but hockey. At least cbc educates hockey. With NBC you become dumb no wonder most Americans are dumb, Npl, stain to name a few

Admittedly, after the first period 0-0 I had little faith they would win that game. Just had a bad feeling entire time. But they won ha ha !
Doubts hit me after they scored 1st and Ottawa tied it right away.
I was still okay at that point – but when Dzingle tied it again…that’s when i was starting to think that it wasn’t meant to be.
Pens have been to the Cup Finals 6 times now…always in back to back years. Also earned themselves a new EC Champions banner for next year.

For some reason i have a mental block between 08 and 09 because they lost in 08…even though I was there to see f’ing Zetterberg raise the Cup at Mellon Arena.
IMO Guentzel’s minutes were reduced, in part, because he didn’t get a piece of Karlsson on the senator’s first goal. He let the guy skate right past him out of the zone.

These last four games – the puck possession / puck support, etc…they’re starting to look a lot like the ’16 team. They’re clicking at the right time.
You don’t wanna tell that to everyone not cheering for the Pens… like last year the overwhelming majority has Pittsburgh in deep over their heads lol. I even read that the Ducks D is so good in comparison that Nashville missing its top 2 Cs vs Crosby and Malkin is no big deal!

I know 1 thing for sure, they were 8-4 against 2 of the best teams in the league with Fleury in net and a loss puts them at 2-2 against an inferior team with Murray in net.
