The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded 2006 second round pick Carl Sneep to the Dallas Stars for a conditional draft pick, the team announced. The Penguins will receive the Stars’ seventh-round pick in the 2013 Draft if Sneep plays 10 or more regular season games with Dallas.

Sneep made his NHL debut last season, appearing in one game against the Buffalo Sabres, collecting an assist and posting a plus-1 rating.
Sneep has flashed NHL potential and has good size at 6-foot-4, 215 lbs. However, he’s been stuck down the Penguins organizational depth chart and playing in Wheeling. Overall, he can be regarded as a bust to this point and can’t stay healthy.
The Penguins pretty much got nothing for Sneep, their 2006 second round pick and Brian Strait, the Penguins 2006 third round pick, who was lost on waivers.
