PIRATES LOOKING AT KENNEDY

The Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals and Florida Marlins are among the teams in on Padres starter Ian Kennedy, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.
Kennedy has been considered by some as the 4th best available pitcher behind David Price, Cole Hamels and Jon Lester.
Kennedy, 29, is 8-9 with a 3.66 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 135.1 innings pitched. The Pirates love pitchers with a high strikeout rate and Kennedy is 4th in NL with 143 strikeouts. Kennedy is 61-49 in his career with a 3.96 ERA. He won 21 games with the Diamondbacks in 2011.
Kennedy is under team control next season as the Padres are not certain to move him and had been asking for a top prospect, but who isn’t. He can be a free agent after 2015 season.
Kennedy is making $6.1 million this season
