The Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted top prospect Pedro Alvarez to Class (AA) Altoona.
In 66 games with Class A Lynchburg, Alvarez batted .247 with 14 home runs and 55 RBI’s.
Alvarez hit 4 home runs and 13 RBI’s in his last 10 games.
