The Pittsburgh Pirates this morning re-assigned top prospect Brad Lincoln to Triple-A Indianapolis. Lincoln was the Pirates first round pick No. 4 overall) in 2006.
Lincoln, 24, will turn 25 in May and was never a serious contender for the No. 5 spot in the rotation as the Pirates don’t want his free agency clock to start.
He is expected to join the Pirates at some point this season, likely after June 1st.
The Pirates also made 6 other cuts this morning.
