What To Watch For

UNC-Asheville is an athletic team that gets good guard play and will look to push the tempo and run against the Panthers.

They are a team built through their guard play with Matt Dickey and JR Primm. Dickey, the Big South Conference Tournament MVP, is a creative 1-on-1 player who can create his own shot from the perimeter or inside. Primm is a good ball handler who is dangerous from three point range.
They have the ability to put some points up against Pitt and are aggressive defensively as their defensive scheme relies on creating turnovers and pushing the play in the transition game.
Pitt though is a nightmare matchup for UNC-Asheville because of UNCA’s lack of size and poor rebounding ability.
The Panthers figure to dominate UNCA on the boards and should wear down UNCA by early in the second half. Pitt should have a field day inside.
No. 1 seeds are 104-0 against No. 16 seeds.
