Dave Wannstedt and Pitt have finally beaten out Penn State for a recruit. Last night, Pitt received their 3rd verbal commitment when Jeff Knox, Jr., Hyattsville DeMatha (MD) told Wannstedt he was coming to Pitt.
Knox (6-2, 190) is a 3-star recruit and is projected to play safety in college. He picked Pitt over offers from Penn State, Michigan, Maryland and Wake Forest.
Knox is from Maryland but is a native of Pittsburgh. He went to Central Catholic but moved to DeMatha before his junior season. As a sophomore at Central Catholic, he rushed for 1,243 yards and scored 15 TD’s.
