Russell Wilson went 20 of 28 for 278 yards and 1 passing touchdown in the Steelers 26-18 win over the New York Giants. It was a flawless performance from Wilson minus a fumble scrambling with 4:42 remaining. It could have been a much bigger statistical night for Wilson. On the 9th play of the game Wilson connected with George Pickens for an 11-yard touchdown pass that was nullified by a Broderick Jones holding penalty. Wilson and Pickens then connected again for what appeared to be a 9 yard TD pass in the second quarter but Pickens got two feet down of the same foot and not his left foot as the play was reversed. Even Mike Tomlin contested the call and lost a timeout with an illegal challenge flag. What Wilson showed again is the Steelers have a professional behind center and his 43 yard bomb to Pickens in the 4th quarter down the left side is just a different element the Steelers haven’t had since Ben Roethlisberger (pre-elbow injury).
