More Cost Cutting Moves: The Steelers on Friday officially released wide receiver Allen Robinson and defensive back Patrick Peterson. Pittsburgh saves $10 million against the cap with the release of Robinson. Peterson a future Hall-of-Famer, signed a 2 year, $14 million contract in 2023 with the Steelers. Pittsburgh will take on a $2.95 million dead cap hit in 2024 by moving on from Peterson which was a tougher decision for the team than the release of Robinson.
