PRE-GAME BUZZ
A blowout win of a tanking Arizona Coyotes team won’t mean anything in the big picture but if there’s a day where the Penguins need one it’s today.
The Penguins need to come out, get a couple early goals and make this matchup look like one of men against boys. Not a 2-1, 3-1 win like the previous matchup with the Coyotes, the Penguins need just for the sake of their psyche have a Penguins game of the past and put up a 5 or 6 goal performance.
The Penguins will have no excuses today as Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornvist both return to the lineup.
Thomas Greiss starts in goal while the Coyotes will go with Mike Smith.
Former Penguin Marc Arcobello has 7 goals in 20 games for the Coyotes. He had 0 in 10 games with the Penguins.

The Penguins announced David Perron is out of tonight’s lineup due to an illness.
OUTDOOR GAME IN 2017

The long speculated Penguins – Flyers game at Beaver Stadium is becoming closer to a reality. According to the Philly Daily News, Flyers Chief operating office Shawn Tiger revealed during a town hall meeting with season ticket holders this week that the Penguins and Flyers are working together for the game to be played in 2017 at a “certain stadium in Pennsylvania” to commemorate the 50th year of both franchises.
A Penguins source confirmed there have been discussions between both franchises but the specific venue has not been finalized.
