Stanley Cup Playoffs Most Penguin fans got their wish as the Penguins get to avoid Philadelphia Flyers in Round 2. The favored Rangers ousted the Flyers in seven games last night with a 2-1 win in Game 7, setting up a second round series with the Penguins. People should not overlook the Rangers ability to win this series but the schedule strongly favors the rested Penguins to start.
Game 1 is Friday night, meaning the Rangers will be playing three games in four nights and the schedule makers did them no favors after that. Game 2 and Game 3 are back to back games on Sunday and Monday night respectively. That Rangers will be playing five times in seven nights.
While the Penguins had two day breaks “twice” in the Columbus series, there are none in Round 2.
