Going from Ben Roethlisberger to Mitch Trubisky doesn’t scream playoff contender in 2022 but the Steelers internally not only believe this is a potential 10-11 win squad, they’re also quite confident the quarterback play led by Trubisky will be an upgrade over what Ben Roethlisberger gave them in 2021.
And they don’t even see it as a question mark.
Offensively, the Steelers feel they will be harder to defend and game plan with Trubisky who Steeler coaches feel can attack the middle of the field with much higher success than Roethlisberger could last season, a key area the team saw as a major issue.
Time will tell how long the Mitch Trubisky era last.
As good as Kenny Pickett looked in the preseason, all indications are Trubisky who was named captain on Monday, has a long leash and will have to stumble mightily and the Steelers start something like 1-4, 1-5 for the Kenny Pickett era to get underway……..
