Penguins emerge as suitor

[hide] The Pittsburgh Penguins have emerged as a contender to sign defenseman Zach Bogosian on Monday. Bogosian who is expected to clear waivers after failing to report to Rochester, will have his contract terminated and become a free agent. He has to sign with a team by 3:00 pm Monday to be eligible for the playoffs.

TSN’s Darren Dreger names the Penguins, Maple Leafs, Hurricanes and Jets as the “strong” contenders to sign Bogosian.

Pittsburgh currently has three roster spots available (47/50).

The 29 year old right shot defenseman has a goal, 4 assists in 19 games this season. [/hide]
