Latest on Bryan Dumoulin: From the coaching staff to members of the front office, the organization has been patient for the most part that Brian Dumoulin’s significant drop in play this play was fixable. The coaching staff in particular felt they could build Dumoulin back up by reducing his deployment against top lines with the ultimate goal that a reset over a couple weeks To read this insider news, subscribe to get “Inside Access”!
As the calendar has now hit 2023, the organization is reaching the point where they are starting to feel that Dumoulin’s days as not just a No. 1 pairing defenseman are completely, but the organization is losing faith that Dumoulin can find his game to even give the team No. 2 pairing level play. It’s become a major focus point in pro scouting meetings that are set to intensify this month as Pittsburgh maps out of their trade deadline plans. Suddenly a big focus among personnel and scouts is To read this insider news, subscribe to get “Inside Access”!
This team is fixable there just need to be a few moves by Crapstall and Bumbles Burke. We do have enough assets to get a third line center and another defenseman. If they can’t see that Ty Smith (who had a great training camp) and has been solid in his few games call up is better than Pierre Oliver Joseph thenthat is a problem. Smith looked good against Arizona playing a couple 2 on 1’s well, moved the puck, good shots through from the point, and actually covered people in front of our net…Pierre Oliver Joseph while is having a… Read more »
He has looked done for a while now. Very short career as a premier shutdown guy, he’s barely serviceable in a depth role these days. End of the contract so there could be a taker but it’s not worth dumping picks to a bottom feeder to take.
Chances won’t ever be super high but if there was a hiccup in the playoff runs for this team, this would be the year to have it.
If the organization couldn’t see this coming at the end of last year into this one, maybe its an organizational issue – not a RH fan.
oh no! they suck again!
Penguins need a third line center plain and simple When we won Cups in 2009,2016,2017 we had Jordan Stahk and Nick Bonino in 2016 & 2017. Quite frankly Jeff Carter has sucked 5 goals in 36 games and two of them empty netters…uuuggghhhh !!!
Who would you guys like to see as our third line center ?.. I like Max Domi only 27,leads the Blackhawks in goals with 11, has a great shot and some grit to his game. Would be a cheaper option.
Oh yeah defense pretty much sucks too outside of all people Petersson who has been good…
I agree Dumo has been great but if we can move him great or let him walk in the off season… Too bad he has been such a good Penguin and only 31….
Dumo has been awesome for a decade, but they need to let him walk this offseason. It’d be great if they can unload him, but it’s hard to imagine that happening. Never know, though. Teams really value playoff experience and if someone sees him as a 2nd pairing guy, the Pens should eat half his salary to maximize the return.
I think Dumoulin is done thankGOD he is in his last year. Yes we need at least one more DMAN. Patience my ass. Hextall needs to get something done period.
Pozone…I agree but i think we need two defenseman. A big physical stay at home defenseman like (recently made available Mattis Ekholn (Nashville) or maybe 3rd pair LHD Kyle Burroughs of Vancouver. (only $750,000)
Pozone…I 100% agree Hextall is so slow and methodical like last year he acquired Rakell as the deadline ended…
If he does not move quick and he waits until the trade deadline it will be too late…This team needs help now and he must get creative and get it down…also getting tired of wheel chair Jarry too…
