The Pittsburgh Steelers are turning to the past agreeing to terms with wide receiver Antwaan Randle El and reportedly are showing a strong interest in re-signing former starting linebacker Larry Foote.
However, the chances of Foote returning to Pittsburgh are not high.
The Steelers have reached out to Brian Levy the agent for Foote but Foote has yet to show any kind of interest of setting up a visit or even entertaining the idea of returning to Pittsburgh, a league source tells Inside Pittsburgh Sports.
The 29 year old linebacker is seeking a multi-year deal and a starting position, something the Steelers cannot offer Foote, unless the team were to release linebacker James Farrior.
With the Detroit Lions in 2009, Foote had 99 tackles (70 solo) and 2 sacks.
The veteran linebacker is drawing significant interest from the Washington Redskins and the Arizona Cardinals.
Pro Day: OL Coach attends Utah’s Pro-day

The Pittsburgh Steelers were among several teams represented at Utah’s Pro-day on Monday. Among the representives was offensive line coach Sean Kugler.
Pro-days I’m told are more important to coaching staff members than the combine. It’s where running backs coach Kirby Wilson became set on the drafting Frank Summers last spring.
The Steelers coaching and scouting staff will be very busy this week with a number of pro-days going on.
Today marks a total of 14 pro-days, headlined by Oklahoma University.
