The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (suspension) this Sunday for the second straight game and will seek their first win in Tennessee since November 25, 2001.
The Steelers are 1-8 all-time in Tennessee and will face the Tennessee Titans in week two and Football Betting fans should take into consideration that the Titans have one of the best running backs in the game, Chris Johnson.
The Titans achieved their first win of the 2010 season, against the Oakland Raiders, but it won’t be easy to get another overwhelming victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For its part, the Steelers defense will be very busy trying to stop Titans running back Chris Johnson who had an amazing 2009 season and rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns in the Titans opening game against the Raiders.
In addition, the team will rely once again on quarterback Dennis Dixon who will be the starting quarterback in Sunday’s game against the Titans even though Byron Leftwich has been seeing some action in practice this week.
Leftwich is eyeing a return to the lineup next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what could set up a quarterback controversy in Pittsburgh next week.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin waited until Tuesday to name Dennis Dixon his starter for this week, saying he believes that Dixon will continue to evolve at the quarterback position. “He {Dennis Dixon} will lead us into Nashville, ” Tomlin said on Tuesday at his weekly press conference.
In the opening game, Dixon completed 18 of 26 passes for 236 yards and one interception.
