The Montreal Canadiens decided to quit playing hard ball and have agreed to an 8 year extension with star defenseman PK Subban, the Canadiens announced.
The deal is worth $72 million.
After a day of posturing and Subban’s agent saying there would be no long-term deal, all of the talk of a potential divorce between two sides was a bunch to do about nothing and cooler heads prevailed. Subban will have the third highest cap hit in the NHL this season.
Weigh in Penguin Fans: Would you rather have Kris Letang at 8 years with $7.25 million AAV or PK Subban at 8 years with $9 million AAV?
