Oskar Sundqvist was the surprise of training camp and despite looking much closer to being NHL ready than anticipated, the Penguins ultimately decided to send Sundqvist back to Skelleftea of the Swedish Hockey League.
He had 2 goals and 1 assist in five preseason games.
The Penguins have also sent Scott Harrington back to Wilkes Barre after making a strong bid for a roster spot. The writing was on the wall in today’s practice as Harrington was the extra pairing.
Taylor Chorney is expected to start the season as the Penguins seventh defenseman until Robert Bortuzzo is healthy.
