Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Alex Goligoski has been ruled out for tonight’s game as the Penguins take on the Anaheim Ducks to conclude their three game homestand.
Goligoski did not skate today and will be replaced by Nate Guenin in the lineup. Goligoski was injured near the end of Saturday nights game and will have an MRI today on his knee.
Guenin will be paired with Jay McKee.
Goligoski joins defensemen Brooks Orpik, Kris Letang and Sergei Gonchar on the shelf.
*Forward Tyler Kennedy remains sidelined with a groin injury and did not skate again this morning. Kennedy has not practiced since Thursday, November 5th in Los Angeles.
*A few brights spots for the Penguins is that Sergei Gonchar is less than a week from returning. He’s expected to return to the lineup as early as Saturday night against Atlanta.
*Max Talbot is progessing and his primary target date for a return is

Wednesday, November 25th against the Montreal Canadiens. Talbot has reacted well since being cleared for contact last Wednesday. There’s an outside chance he returns a game or two earlier but Dan Bylsma is being very cautious with Talbot. Count on a debut for Talbot next Wednesday.
*Where Talbot fits in the lineup remains to be seen. He’s been working extensively with strength and conditioning coach Mike Kadar on face-offs.
*Pittsburgh will wear their third jerseys tonight.
