The quarterback situation appears to have settled itself. No. 2 quarterback Byron Leftwich suffered a broken arm and will be out for an extended period of time and possibly done for the season. This is the second straight preseason where Leftwich suffered a significant injury.
Defensive end turned tight end Miguel Chavis has a torn pectorial and is likely done for the season.

Elsewhere on the injury front, Maurkice Pouncey tweaked his left ankle, the same ankle that caused him to miss Super Bowl XLV. Pouncey is dealing with some scar tissue, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Cornerback Keenan Lewis is being evaluated tonight. He suffered a left knee injury on a ball in the endzone. Tomlin sounded optimistic that Lewis will be okay but nothing has been determined yet. All other injuries are “minimal”, according to Tomlin.
