Pirates first baseman Lyle Overbay has just 1 RBI in his last 65 at-bats and manager Clint Hurdle’s patience is weighing thin.

That has led Pirates scouts doing their homework this week on Baltimore Orioles first baseman Derek Lee who the Pirates feel still has something left in the tank and would benefit from a return to the National League.
The Pirates have scouted the Orioles four times since Sunday.
Lee who is hitting .248 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI’s, belted his 12th homer of the season Friday night, going 2-for-3 with a double HR and 2 RBI’s.
Lee is batting .351 in his last 10 games with 3 home runs and 11 RBI’s.
