The Pittsburgh Penguins have emerged as the front runners to sign Quinnipiac goaltender Eric Hartzell. The deal is expected to be a one year deal. The big 6-foot-4, 190-pound goaltender had an excellent senior season leading Quinnipiac to the National Title Game.
Hartzell who was a Hobey Baker finalist, went 30-7-5 with a 1.57 GAA and .933 save percentage and 5 shutouts. The 23 year old was a four year player at Quinnipiac going 58-27-17.
