Despite having two of the games most dynamic players, the Pittsburgh Penguins have had trouble scoring goals this season but tonight the Penguins were clicking on all cylinders. Pittsburgh was led by Miroslav Satan (1 goal – 2 assists) who had a three point night, his biggest night in a Penguins uniform. Satan the Penguins marquee free agent signee during the summer leads the Penguins with 6 goals and was reunited with Sidney for the first time since the Penguins third game of season. Talbot – Crosby – Satan were put together near the end of the team’s morning skate once Ruslan Fedotenko left practice with what is believed to be a groin injury.

Sidney Crosby (2 assists) and Evgeni Malkin (1 goal – 1 assist) combined for four points tonight. Crosby came into the game as question mark with a lower rib injury but was adamant about playing tonight to help the Penguins end their three game skid. Evgeni Malkin has been the Penguins best player this season and currently leads the NHL in points. Pittsburgh also got goals Alex Goligoski, Tyler Kennedy and Maxime Talbot. Jordan Staal scored an empty netter registering his first regular season goal since March 20th, 2008
