Adding Veteran Goaltender to battle John Curry a priority

There is talk that theĀ  Pittsburgh Penguins have shown an interest in free agent goaltedners Kevin Weekes and Curtis Sanford.
Weekes, 34, is represented by agent Allan Walsh who has a close working relationship with Penguins General Manager Ray Shero.
Weekes has been a player of interest for Pittsburgh since free agency began.
Pittsburgh has discussed a two-way contract with Weekes camp but an official offer has not been made to this point.
Weekes is believed to be waiting on the New Jersey Devils before moving forward in talks with the Penguins.
Another goaltender Pittsburgh has held discussions with is goaltender Curtis Sanford. Sanford went 7-8 with a 2.59 GAA in 19 games for the Vancouver Canucks last season.
There is speculation that Pittsburgh has offered Sanford a two-way contract. We are trying to get confirmation on it.
Another goaltender that Pittsburgh likes is Nolan Schaeffer. Ray Shero is very high on Schaeffer but Schaeffer is strictly a minor league goaltender and would only be signed if Pittsburgh is comfortable moving forward with John Curry as their #2.
