The Pittsburgh Penguins top prospects returned to the ice this afternoon as they went through their 4th day of conditioning. The first two ice sessions centered around drills, instruction, attention to details, while “On-ice testing” was conducted today.

The players went through almost two hours of on-ice testing this afternoon. The testing including skating straight ahead, quick feet drills, backwards then forwards skating, stops and starts, carrying puck through cones, and cross overs around the dot.
The players were timed in all of these testing drills.
Among some of the top performers in different testing drills were Simon Despres (2009 1st round pick), Carl Sneep (2006, 2nd round pick), Ben Hanowski (3rd round, 2009) Nathan Longpre (UFA), Robert Bortuzzo (2007, 3rd round pick), Nick Johnson (2004, 3rd round pick) and Jon Vitale (2005, 7th round pick.
Averaging all of the scores from the 7-8 testing stations, Carl Sneep and Nathan Longpre had the best scores of the day.
Sneep has had a very good camp and his skating ability really jumps out. He gets a great jump on his stops and starts.
We will have results posted very soon in the “more insight section”
