There will not be a deal struck with right winger Petr Sykora before the season ends as Ray Shero and Allan Walsh the agent for Petr Sykora

will not negotiate an extension until after the season. Allan Walsh has told Inside Pittsburgh Sports, that Ray Shero indicated to him two weeks ago the two sides will begin negotiations after the season. There has been speculation that the two sides were trying to get a deal done before the trade deadline but that is not the case at all.
Sykora is expected to get a three year deal worth $12 million, if he were to hit the open market.
Sykora is seeking a three year deal with the Penguins and will take slightly less than $4 million per season, if the Penguins offer a third year.
