STEELERS FREE AGENCY BUZZ

As Kelvin Beachum is exploring his market value, already visiting with the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars and with two other visits scheduled for this week, the Steelers have entered the left tackle market and in a way are also putting pressure on Beachum.

The team hosted Seattle Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung today who was the 6th overall pick in the 2010 draft, and have [hide] an offer on the table for Okung, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Okung, 28, is coming off a six year, $48.5 million contract he signed as a rookie. He made $4.8 million last season and is negotiating his next deal as he doesn’t have an agent.

The one-time (2012) pro bowl tackle won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2013 and appeared in another one, yet, still came away quite impressed when walking into the Steelers facility and seeing the six Super Bowl titles.

Interesting enough, Beachum and Okung then ran into each other.

Beachum and Okung are mostly being pursued by the same teams and Beachum is scheduled to fly out of Pittsburgh tonight for two more visits this week. Pretty fluid situation.

Denver’s Ryan Harris and San Diego’s Chris Hairston will also make visits to Pittsburgh this week, barring no deal is struck before hand with Beachum or Okung.[/hide]
