The Pittsburgh Steelers will bring safety Will Allen in for a visit this week, according to a league source. Allen is just waiting on the date as Monday will begin the first day that the Steelers will hold visits for free agents.
The Steelers have been negotiating with Allen’s agent since free agency began.
Allen, 27, is eyed by the Steelers front office to provide depth at the safety position and be a focal point on their special teams coverage units.
Allen was a special teams alternate for the 2008 NFC Pro bowl team. Allen made $2.35 million on a one year deal last season as a backup safety and special teams ace.
