st Down: We all know T.J. Watt is special. We’re witnessing greatness on weekly basis for the Future 1st ballot Hall-of-Famer who returned a fumble 15 yards for a touchdown with just under seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Steelers a 26-22 lead. As a unit the Steelers defense is not special by any means. Having a group of special 3-4 players, though, gives you nights like the Steelers had where the defense balled out by scoring 2 touchdowns, 6 sacks, 1 interception (returned for a TD) and producing 4 forced fumbles.

On a night where the Steelers were without Cam Heyward and Minkah Fitzpatrick was roughed up and exited the game early, Watt and Alex Highsmith willed the Steelers to victory. Pittsburgh had no qualms dishing out nearly a $70 million contract to Highsmith because you never move on from pass rushers with his good to sometimes great ability in their prime. No one regards Highsmith as a top-5 outside backer in the game but what a luxury this team has to have the caliber of a pass rusher in Highsmith to combine with the greatness of T.J. Watt. Teams have to focus so much on Watt, impactful nights like Highsmith had with the game opening pick-6 and the strip-sack that led to Watt’s go-ahead touchdown are more likely to be the norm.

nd Down: Kenny Pickett is not It: Another game, another pedestrian night for Kenny Pickett who aside from a few moments here and there, showed little to no improvement from Week 1. Pickett is struggling mightily with his accuracy in 1-on-1 tight situations, and he was panicky in the pocket once again. This is just not what you want to see from Pickett in what was his 14th career start (15 games). The wait continues for a 2-touchdown passing game. | Kenny Pickett Stat Line | 15/30, 222 Yards, 1 TD-1INT, 12.3 QBR

rd Down: Fire Canada, Warren RB1? The Pittsburgh Steelers trailed by three entering the fourth quarter and won by four. All of this despite having minus-7 yards in the fourth quarter. Now that’s a stat. “We’re not going to apologize for winning,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. As expected, the ‘Fire Canada’ chants were loud in the fourth quarter. A good argument, though, is Canada probably had a better night than the quarterback with an impressing play design on the George Pickens 71-yard touchdown he took to the house and design on the Jaylen Warren 30-yard catch and run reception. Pittsburgh rushed for just 55 yards and as Najee Harris gained 43 yards on 10 carries, including a 21-yard run in the fourth quarter, everything seems headed in the direction where it’s only a matter of time that Jaylen Warren keeps taking more and more reps away from Harris.

th Down: Browns season is over? Pittsburgh and Cleveland are both 1-1 at the two-game mark and Cleveland like Pittsburgh has a defense that can win games as it showed in week one vs Cincinatti. Yet, Cleveland has a major hill to climb to overcome the loss of Nick Chubb who was the engine of their offense. There’s no evidence Houston Texans DeShaun Watson is ever going to show up.
