Bruce Arians named head coach of the Arizona Cardinals

Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has agreed to a four year deal to become the Arizona Cardinals new head coach. He will replace Ken Whisenhunt. Arians who did great work with the Colts this season, became one of the NFL’s hottest coaching candidates this year and was a finalist for the Bears and Chargers job. Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley was in the mix but was never offered the job.

NFL Playoffs: Ravens stun Broncos in OT

The Baltimore Ravens are heading to the AFC Championship game for the second year in the row. Corey Graham intercepted Peyton Manning in overtime and Justin Tucker’s field goal won it for Baltimore, 38-35. The Broncos were plagued by a conservative game plan in the second half and Joe Flacco’s 70 yard touchdown pass with 31 seconds left in the 4th quarter was a classic choke job by the Broncos DB Rahim Moore who failed to defend the big play. MILLER, POUNCEY NAMED TO PRO BOWL Two Pittsburgh Steelers were named to the AFC Pro Bowl Team this evening. Center Maurkice Pouncey was named a starter at center and Heath Miller made the team as the second tight end. Miller obviously won’t play and is having season ending knee surgery on Thursday. Pouncey one of the games best centers will be making his third consecutive pro bowl, including his second as a starter. He has started 14-of-15 games this season, including one at left guard.
