Robbie Grossman, CF
Height: 6-1 Weight: 191 lbs
Age 20: 2008 6th round draft pick
20 year old prospect Robbie Grossman is regarded by scouts around the league as one of the Pirates most under-rated prospects in their system.
At 6-1, 191 lbs, Grossman is a good athlete with above-average speed and will take a walk, making him a potential leadoff candidate at the major league level.

He hasn’t hit for power yet but that should come as his body fills out, though he doesn’t figure to be a big home run threat. He has an outstanding arm, with decent range and according to evaluators I spoke to this week, Grossman is viewed as having a higher ceiling than prospect Gorky’s Hernandez who was apart of the Nate McLouth trade.
Grossman is off to a hot start for the Bradenton Marauders, the Pirates Class A affiliate, hitting .457 (7-for-15) with a home run, 2 RBI’s and 5 runs scored.
In 15 at-bats, Grossman has 3 walks and only 1 strikeout.
